Health Anxiety
A twinge lands and the thought is instant: something's wrong. This is the work of teaching an alarm to stop reading an ordinary body as an emergency.
You feel a flutter, a twinge, a patch of numbness, and before you've even decided to, the thought is already there: something is wrong. You scan for more of it. You press the spot to see if it still hurts. You open the search bar, and for a few minutes a reassuring answer helps, and then a new sensation, or the same one, starts the whole thing over. You've been to the doctor, maybe more than once, and the all-clear never quite sticks. You know, in your calmer moments, that this is anxiety, and knowing that doesn't stop it in the moment when your body sends the next signal.
You're not imagining the sensations. They're real. What's happening is that a well-meaning alarm is reading an ordinary body as a threat, and that reading can be changed.
What’s actually happening
Health anxiety runs on a specific loop: a normal bodily sensation gets read as a sign of danger, the alarm fires, the fear makes you scan your body more closely, and closer scanning finds more sensations to be frightened of. Checking and searching give a moment of relief that teaches the alarm the threat was real, so it fires faster next time. The body is not the problem; the interpretation is. The work here is to help your system learn that a sensation is just a sensation, to step out of the scanning-and-searching loop, and to let an ordinary body be ordinary again. This kit never gives medical advice and never tells you a symptom is nothing; it works on the anxiety, and it always keeps real medical care in its proper place.
The Something's Wrong Kit
This is the guided intervention for health anxiety. It helps you step out of the body-scanning and searching loop and teaches the alarm to stop reading ordinary sensations as danger. Includes a private audio walkthrough recorded by Lisa.
The next step
The kit this one connects to is The Signal Kit, the baseline mechanism underneath the health fear.
The Downloadable Care Guide
This is a practical visual companion that reinforces the work and keeps the practices within reach in everyday life. It's an instant download from craftyourwellness.com.
How the work is built
Start with The Something's Wrong Kit. If the health fear sits on top of a broader baseline anxiety, The Signal Kit is the root beneath it. Not sure? The free assessment will point you. Take the free assessment →
